Center for Economic and Political Studies
The Center for Economic and Political Studies, (which at the time of its birth in 1989, was called the Research
Center for Economic Sciences) have been established with the aim of disseminating and expanding basic and
applied research to meet the needs of society and government bodies. At present, the Center consists of two
specialized groups: Economic Studies and Political Studies.
The center has a website accessible at http://eprc.sbu.ac.ir/fa/Default.html and has a specialized digital library
containing more than 7700 sources (articles and books in English, Persian and Arabic), with the ability to
receive the full text of more than 4600 sources that are completely free. It should be noted that this specialized
website has an average of more than 4,000 daily visitors.
In addition to implementing extensive research projects in the economic and political science fields, this center
 has organized many training workshops.
Since the spread of COVID 19, the center has organized online seminars, some of which are as follows:
1- Specialized webinar to review the government budget bill.
2- The specialized webinar on the future of Iran's gas industry in relation to its regional competitors.
3- Specialized webinar on the effects of COIVD 19 on Iran's economy
4- Specialized webinar on the economic dimensions of presidential election (2021) in Iran 
5- Iran-US relations in President Biden’s administration.
At present, Dr. Ali Akbar Arab Mazar, a faculty member in Economic Department, serves as the head of the
center.
Innovation Center
In recent years, innovation and innovative ecosystems has received more attention than before in academic
 environment. In this regard, innovation centers have been defined and established in Shahid Beheshti
 University in order to respond to this paradigm shift. These centers are places for growing innovative and
entrepreneurial activities from the initial levels of ideas to the level of knowledge-based companies. Therefore,
innovative groups, technology units, technology companies, creative and leading companies or
knowledge-based and laboratory companies operate in these centers.
The Innovation Center of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science was inaugurated in March 2017.
The approximate area of the center is 200 square meters and includes 8 offices and 6 common tables for
handing over to the applicants. Also, a conference hall for 18 people and support and reception space are
available for the members.
At present, 5 technology teams with different economic and political topics have been accepted in the
 innovation center and their contracts have been finalized with the Science and Technology Park.
At present, Dr. Morteza Tahamipour, a faculty member in Economics Department, serves as the head of the
 center.
